UofU Campus Tree Identifcation Tour
Did you know that the University of Utah campus is the state arboretum? It's home to more than 12,000 trees! Join Tree Utah's Sam Nelson and U of U arborist Julius Sawatzki for an early-autumn campus walk as they highlight some favorite trees and discuss the planting principle of "Right Tree, Right Place" and why that's complicated for Utah's cities and arboreta amidst climate change.
Meet at the flagpole in Presidents' Circle. There is paid parking available in Presidents' Circle or street parking on University Street (1400 E). This will be a 60-75 minute walk, on some uneven ground, but mostly on sidewalks. Bring clothing appropriate for the weather and your curiosity!
This event is free of charge but donations are always welcome and help TreeUtah plant more trees. https://treeutah.networkforgood.com/

TreeUtah is dedicated to making our events accessible to everyone. Planting trees might sound intimidating, but it’s a task anyone can help with! Our events are open to everyone across the spectrums of age, experience, and abilities. Whether you show up to lend your hands to dig holes, your eyes to ensure trees are upright, or your voice to keep us encouraged, you are welcome to plant trees with TreeUtah. If you want to plant trees with us, we will work with you to accommodate your needs and we will be happy to have you join us!
