Tree Planting & Dance Ceremony at the Nature Center at Pia Okwai
Join us for an extra special tree planting event on Saturday, May 24th at the Nature Center at Pia Okwai (3310 S 1000 W, South Salt Lake, UT). We'll get things started by planting trees at 9:00 am. Then, We'll finish off with a special tree planting dance ceremony by the Return Dance Project at 11:30 am.
When you arrive at the planting site, look for our big green tent to make sure you're in the right place and to check in. Once everyone has arrived, we'll get started with a brief safety talk and planting demonstration. Then, we'll split into small groups and get planting.
We will bring the trees, tools, gloves, and expertise to guide you through the planting process. We ask that you wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, sun protection, and enough layers to plant comfortably in the day's weather. We also recommend bringing a reusable water bottle to fill at our water station.
